Autumn Wedding with a Cozy Dinner Party Vibe at The Arbory

Fall offers so much more than just pumpkin spice lattes and cozy sweaters. As a florist, some of our favorite aspects of fall are the deep, rich colors, in-season dahlias, and tons of fun foliage to work with. We love it when clients lean into the vibrancy of autumn - just like Kelsey and Michael did. This bride and groom envisioned an elevated, cozy dinner party for their October wedding celebration. They were inspired by Italian tradition, with a focus on a warm family gathering. They actually met studying abroad in italy and wanted to recreate their sweet beginning. We loved working with them and their planner, Olivia from Olive Fine Weddings, to create a wedding with so much autumnal charm. Check out their photos by Meg Adamik Creative, and read more about their wedding at The Arbory below.

This sweet couple sure has style! Michael wore an awesome burgundy suit with a white shirt. He accessorized with a unique floral tie, a golden tie clip and a peach ranunculus boutonniere with the best fall foliage, nandina. It really pulled his whole autumn ‘fit together! Kelsey’s autumnal bouquet really popped against her off-the-shoulder, white wedding dress. Elements we included in her loose and naturally shaped bouquet were burgundy and orange dahlias, peach ranunculus, white roses, golden amaranthus, eucalyptus, copper beech foliage, chocolate cosmo, nandina, and more. We wrapped the stems in long, burgundy ribbon. Is it what autumnal dreams are made of, or what?!

For their wedding ceremony decor, we created a deconstructed arch with tons of texture and those deep autumnal colors. The deep maroon, burnt orange, and white flowers complemented the soft tones of the whites and greens. This loose and airy backdrop was placed right in front of the gorgeous exposed brick of The Arbory. We also lined the aisles with white pillar candles of various heights, along with clusters of greenery. Keep reading to see how we repurposed the ceremony decor later on in the evening!

Those peach and light pink linette mums were stunners!

We glam’ed up the welcome sign (which later turned into their seating chart) with a floral hedge that matched the rest of their wedding flowers. Their sign looked awesome against all the dripping, textured green ferns.

Michael and Kelsey exchanged their “I do’s” in front of their friends and family. Yay! Congrats to the new Mr. and Mrs. We love the long, velvet, wine-colored dress that their officiant wore.

Yes, flowers can be worn as bracelets! We made corsages, of the same peach ranunculus the groom and his guys wore, for the two moms and officiant.

For cocktail hour, we sprinkled around some bud vases with fresh blooms and candlelight to add to the romantic vibes.

We created this smaller arrangement for the gift and guest book table, matching the rest of the wedding blooms. Their instant Polaroid guest book was so fun, complete with sharpies and metallic washi tape. All the gold details from the frames and gift box pulled the whole look together!

Repurposing their ceremony decor, we took their ceremony backdrop as well as the pillar candles and greenery and surrounded their sweetheart table with them. We added some tall burgundy tapers in gold taper candle holders, and also some rustic votives so that they could eat among candlelight. We also placed the bride’s bouquet in a vase in the middle of their table so that it could have more time to shine!

Such a good view of the bouquet!

Their long, wooden dinner tables contributed to the cozy and warm dinner party atmosphere. We decked them out with low floral centerpieces in rustic vessels, votives, and tall burgundy tapered candles sitting in gold holders. We loved the way the whole table scape looked, complete with a variety of colored glassware as well as piece of olive foliage at each setting (which we provided). Their table numbers featured different places in Italy. The colors all came together so beautifully!

Their caterer, Big Delicious Planet, provided their small cutting cake. We gave it some color by dressing it up in some autumn blooms.
