Read MoreWe all know that weddings are ceremonies celebrating love and union. The Romee Willow Team has been fortunate enough to be a witness to a countless of beautiful wedding ceremonies and celebrations. What we love even more is getting a look into ceremonies from diverse cultures that honor love in their own ways. Over the summer we had the gift of curating flowers for Ann and Neal’s wedding at Salvage One in Chicago. Before the couple walked down the aisle and exchanged their vows, the usual ceremony of weddings, they had a traditional Chinese wedding tea ceremony with their family!

From the rainbow cake to the fairytale garden disco party! The couple, Julie & MJ, tied the knot at iconic Salvage One this May. This venue has such picturesque details like the tall white pillars to the glimmering chandeliers that it’s perfect for any classy wedding. The couple opted in for Southern-California garden vibe for their Chicago wedding. We went with light, airy, with touch of whimsical (especially for the dance floor decor!). They paid homage to traditional Catholic roots at The Madonna Della Strada Chapel while hosting their reception at the modern and artful, Artifact Events. The duo also opted in for deep colors that truly popped at this more industrial reception venue. They even chose table centerpieces that not most do (see pics below!). It’s also so fun for us to see different worlds coming together and we definitely saw the traditional and the modern meet at this wedding.
Read MoreWe love weddings of all sizes over here! Small and intimate weddings are just as special as a big wedding. For the flowers, some things can definitely range! Maybe we’re not making any extra bouquets or bouts for the wedding party. There are times when ceremony flowers aren’t requested and we’re just working on the reception. Right before spring ended, we had a fun time creating flowers for Hannah and Jessie’s intimate wedding at Lytle House in Chicago! They were going for a vibrant, cheery, and fun look with lots of wildflowers. Check out the gorg photos (especially the artsy film photos!) by Jess Diaz to see what we did for them!
Read MoreIt’s always so special to see how love is celebrated through different and diverse cultures! This last spring we had the honor of curating flowers for Sarah and Jacob’s Jewish wedding at The Westin River North in Chicago. Flower arches are my thing and in Jewish wedding ceremonies, they’re known as Chuppahs! A chuppah is basically a canopy that the couple stands under during their ceremony. Flowers can be adorned all around or made focal point at the top center of the chuppah (this is the route we took—check it out below!). The spring vibes were so high with the use of mostly white and pastel flowers that so beautifully matched the bride and bridesmaids’ dresses (and the stunning lake!).
