Colorful, Lush Summer Wedding at Chicago Botanic Garden

Paige and Ben had the most gorgeous summer wedding last August at the Chicago Botanic Garden. This impressive garden- located 25 miles north of downtown Chicago in Glencoe, Illinois- features 27 display gardens and 5 natural habitats as well as a bunch of different wedding and event spaces. We always love dressing up the Chicago Botanic in even more florals for love-filled celebrations. For Paige and Ben, we did a combination of all-white flowers (for their personals like bouquets and boutonnieres), and colorful, cheerful flowers (for their decor). Take a look at the stunning photos by Christy Tyler Photography below, and learn more about their wedding!

Their invitations and other paper goods by Steracle Press were so gorg and perfect for their garden wedding! We love how they wove in green details throughout their day - from the invitations to bridesmaids dresses and hanging greenery in the reception space.

For Paige’s flowers, we created an all-white bouquet featuring flowers like dahlias, lisanthus, ranunculus, roses, snapdragons, and zinnias. We wrapped the stems with a piece of her mother’s wedding dress. We made smaller versions for her bridesmaids’ bouquets too.

For Ben, we created an all-white pocket boutonniere that featured flowers like ranunculus, spray roses, and dahlias. We love that he had a mini (pocket) bouquet too, perfect for his garden wedding. His guys got flowers too - in the form of boutonnieres made from white ranunculus.

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again - we love the look of the eclectic yet coordinated bridesmaid dresses. Each of the bridesmaids wore different long, sleeveless dresses in various shades of sage, teal, and mint. We especially love the bridsmaid dress with blue and green floral embroidered details!

After photos, it was time to tie the knot! Since the ceremony area (called the Rose Terrace) is already so ornate with a stunning green backdrop , all we did was add two large, colorful and textured arrangements on top of pedestals to add a little pizzazz. We used flowers such as coral dahlias, peach dahlias, white hydrangeas, eremerus, pink snapdragons, pink expression roses, orange zinnias, pink zinnias, plumosus, and more. Keep on reading to see where we repurposed these arrangements later in the day.

Their beautiful reception took place in McGinley Pavilion, a canopied terrace located at the water’s edge. They chose white linens and white taper candles (candles provided by us), and added pops of color to the tablescapes with vibrant florals . For the low centerpieces, we included flowers such as colorful dahlias, roses, lisianthus, snap dragons, zinnias and orchids - the main colors being pink, peach, orange, coral, white, and green.

To dress up the ceiling a bit, MDM Entertainment installed various wicker hanging lights in different shapes and sizes. We provided and hung the greenery surrounding the cool pendants, for a lush summery look.

The large arrangements that were used in the ceremony got repurposed on either side of the head table.

Their white , three-tiered wedding cake was also adorned in a cascade of colorful and fresh blooms.

Their escort cards were attached to individual tequila bottles so guests could get the party started early! We created another large, textured, colorful arrangement for the center of the escort card table. The cocktail tables also got pops of colorful blooms in cute ceramic bud vases.

Congratulations again, Ben and Paige! We loved being part of your special day.
