A Wedding of Many Ceremonies at Salvage One

We all know that weddings are ceremonies celebrating love and union. The Romee Willow Team has been fortunate enough to be a witness to a countless of beautiful wedding ceremonies and celebrations. What we love even more is getting a look into ceremonies from diverse cultures that honor love in their own ways. Over the summer we had the gift of curating flowers for Ann and Neal’s wedding at Salvage One in Chicago. Before the couple walked down the aisle and exchanged their vows, they had a traditional Chinese wedding tea ceremony with their family!

During this wedding ritual, the bride and groom serves tea to their elders to show respect and gratitude. The soon-to-be-married couple then receives well wishes from their families! It’s always special to see tradition come into union with modern twists. After Ann and Neal tied the knot, they celebrated their new chapter with their loved ones with a garden-styled wedding reception! As always, we had so much fun bringing this vision to life. Check out the gorgeous photos by Wes Craft!

Let’s start with this beautiful traditional Chinese wedding tea ceremony. Everything about it seemed so intentional. What a special way to celebrate love and union!

Outfit change! We always love a good fit check for the bride and groom ;). Ann’s wedding dress was simple but the perfect picture of elegance. The subtle details like the buttons down the back and that scooped back-line elevated her entire look. Let’s not forget that gorgeous train!

Neal was nothing short of dapper in his deep indigo suit. And look at that polka dot champagne tie! We love when the groom isn’t afraid to make a statement :).

Alright, since we are florists over here, we gotta talk about the flowers ;). Ann’s bouquet was bursting with color and texture! She held a loose and natural shaped bouquet made with summer flowers such as dahlias, zinnia, queen annes lace, roses, and delphinium.

A part of the couple’s vision was to bring the outdoors inside. Anytime we do this, it really does feel like a fairytale garden come to life! We especially love working with this theme at Salvage One; their architecture is grand and romantic and compliments the theme perfectly. The two large pillars at the altar are perfect for adding a hanging element!

The hanging flower arrangement was made using smilax vine, dahlias, roses, lisianthus, delphinium, and hydrangeas. This entire backdrop and aesthetic is such a dream.

The great thing about the altar hanging element is that it can be repurposed! After the ceremony, we set it above the head table at the reception. Imagine taking a seat at this?! The arrangement coupled with the table garland and the taper candles created the most romantic garden ambiance.

We love when the wedding photographer captures so many angles of the centerpieces! The arrangements we created were multidimensional with varying textures and colors. The flowers used in these low arrangements were the same as Ann’s bouquet with the addition of snapdragons. And here’s a close-up of that garland!

Thank you for letting us be part of your special day, Ann and Neal! We’re wishing so much happiness for this next chapter.
