Whimsical Queer Wedding at Salvage One
Just because the theme of the wedding is classy, doesn’t mean it can’t be fun! I loved working this wedding because of the subtle details that really made it so unique. From the rainbow cake to the fairytale garden disco party! The couple, Julie & MJ, tied the knot at iconic Salvage One this May. This venue has such picturesque details like the tall white pillars to the glimmering chandeliers that it’s perfect for any classy wedding. The couple opted in for a light and airy garden theme, with touch of whimsy (especially for the dance floor decor!). Check out the gorgeous photos down below taken by Jason Brown.
The garden-styled spring bouquets were made with roses, delphinium, ranunculus, sweet pea, peonies, and purple stock. MJ & Julie were truly the picture-perfect image of style & class!
Let’s talk ceremony decor! First off, the aisle begins with these large arrangements of spring blooms. Just like the bridal bouquets, we used peonies and roses, but added a little extra whimsy with those purple allium. The exaggerated and bold artistic pieces of Salvage One was a great contrast to this more garden-styled feminine arrangement.
Remember we mentioned subtle details earlier? We added potted plants along the wedding aisle to go with the garden theme! And we can’t forget the candles to set the mood.
We love making statement pieces and this wedding had 2 (see below)! The white columns at the altar looked they were made just to frame the hanging floral element ;). Keep scrolling to see how we repurposed the ceremony flowers upstairs (for a 3rd statement piece actually)!
Once again we’re seeing great contrast at the reception! The darker and bolder statements from the venue really made these bright garden-styled arrangements standout.
And here is that second statement piece! Honestly, you can’t ever go wrong with a hanging element, especially on the dance floor! We hung smilax and silk wisteria with the disco balls to create this fun and ethereal garden vibe.
Thank you for having us for your special day, MJ + Julie!
