Firehouse Wedding
Firehouse Chicago is a gem in Chicago's Rogers Park neighborhood, built over 100 years ago. It has since been restored to it's original beauty and now used as an event space complete with an outdoor patio and garden and very cool rustic touches inside.
Julie and Melissa were one of the sweetest most love filled, genuine and down to earth couples. Designing flowers for people like this is such a joy! Their flowers truly reflected their spirits with fun bright colors of the season.
Firehouse Chicago provided us with gorgeous rustic farm tables to display our flowers. We made colorful mason jar centerpieces as well as teeny tiny mason jars (originally salt and pepper shakers) arrangements with red blooms. The idea was to allow each guest to take one home. The red blooms consisted of ranunculus, dahlias and spray roses.
We had a lot of fun with their personal flowers too! Melissa's head wreath included billy balls and red spray roses along with rosemary. Julie's boutonniere had a purple ranunculus, a billy ball, a spray rose and a purple gomphrena. Rosemary was also incorporated into the ceremony chair ties.
Many thanks to the fabulous photographer Leah Moyers for capturing the flowers so artfully! Also thank you to Michelle Marchisotta for being such a gracious host at Firehouse Chicago!
