Just Peachy- A wedding at Greenhouse Loft
This wedding started off as a phone call between the mother of the bride and myself. Annie's mom is a florist in Texas. She knew that she wanted to relax at her daughter's wedding so she would have to entrust the flowers to someone else for the day. I was so honored (and a bit nervous, eek!) to be chosen for this! Pressure is on, right? It's a florist's daughter!!
We all met for the first time at the hotel on the morning of Annie and Rob's wedding and I was received with huge hugs! As I was walking out I looked at my phone and saw the most relieving text from the mother of the bride. " OMG!!!!! The bouquets are STUNNING!!!!!! Love them!!!!!! It was so great to meet you!!!!!". Phew!!
This was a mid September wedding, a perfect month for flowers here in the Midwest. We incorporated some gorgeous white dahlias, queen anne's lace, ranunculus. scabiosa pods, millet, spray roses and my favorite... garden roses. Half of the centerpieces were cube vases filled with lush floral and the other half were floating candles in clear cylinder vases.....a very romantic look indeed.
Their venue, Greenhouse Loft, is located in the Green Exchange building in Logan Square and is one of the most sustainable event spaces in Chicago. The space has beautiful natural light and a landscaped outdoor terrace for the summer months. They also have in-house photographers to capture everything. Thank you Jamie from Greenhouse Loft Photography, for providing these stellar pictures!
