Spring Garden Party Wedding at the Morton Arboretum

You don’t have to drive far from the city of Chicago to encounter a lush, tree-filled, magical forest wonderland to get married. Located in the Chicago suburb of Lisle, the Morton Arboretum is an internationally recognized tree-focused botanical garden and research center. Emily and Jesus tied the knot there this past spring, and went for a rustic, natural aesthetic. They def pulled it off! We loved creating their organic garden party wedding flowers, focusing on whimsical colors like blush, light peach, light blue, soft yellow, and ivory. We are big fans of the way these colors popped against the natural woodsy colors of all the trees at the Arboretum. Take a look at these gorg photos by Sally O’Donnell Photography, and relive Emily and Jesus’s wedding day with us!

Starting off with the bride’s look: Emily looked like royalty in her white wedding gown from Weddings826! We also adorned her in flowers with a colorful bridal bouquet and dainty hair flowers. Her dimensional bridal bouquet featured seasonal elements like blush peonies and ranunculus, garden roses, light blue delphinium, and jasmine vine. As for her hair flowers, we provided her with some small, white waxflowers to incorporate into her low bun. She seriously looked straight out of a fairytale!

Jesus looked dapper AF in his blue 3-piece suit and his soft floral tie. The color of his suit went so well with the light blue delphinium of Emily’s bouquet. Because men are obvi entitled to being adorned in flowers as well, we provided a boutonniere made of blush ranunculus for him and his groomsmen.

Bridesmaids surround the bride in the Morton Arboretum, each person holding their own colorful floral bouquet by Chicago florist, Romee Willow Florals.

Emily’s bridesmaids held similar bouquets to hers, only smaller. They wore gorgeous dresses by Jenny Yoo that were perfect for the occasion: blush with a soft floral and greenery pattern. We loved how they were all the same fabric but different styles to complement everyone’s individual body type.

Emily and Jesus couldn’t have chosen a prettier day to get married outside. The sun was shining and the blue sky was vibrant! We created an organic, textured deconstructed arch for their ceremony backdrop and we gotta say, it looked sooo good in the background of their photos! We also decorated the entrance to the ceremony aisle with an eye-catching floral hedge. The pinks and yellows from the flowers brought so much lovely color to the forested area. Later, we repurposed these two ceremony elements in the indoor reception space. Keep reading to see where they ended up!

Cocktail hour was held outside as we prepared the indoor reception space. We provided a mix of tall dinner table centerpieces as well as low ones. They were held in gold Harlow stands and metal compotes, with some clear pleated votives surrounding them. Their table numbers were so cute - featuring gold frames, dried flowers, and white numbers.

We loved how they displayed their escort cards - each featuring a different dried flower. We lined the top of the escort card trellis with Italian ruscus greenery, and placed floral hedges in front.

They had an adorable green photo wall with their names lit up in neon. We added more of their floral hedge to the bottom of this wall for a pop of color and romance!

Congratulations, Emily and Jesus! We wish you a lifetime of happiness together.
