Indian Fusion Wedding at Chicago Cultural Center
Infusing a couple’s culture into their day allows us to have a lot of fun with their wedding flowers. Charlotte and Abhit’s wedding at the Chicago Cultural Center was colorful, natural and certainly made a statement.
Charlotte carried a bouquet with lots of texture and natural floral elements including anemones, coral peonies, white garden roses, red ranunculus, blush bouvardia, bridal spirea, and various hues of greenery. Bridesmaids carried smaller bouquets with lots of greenery and ivory & blush blooms. As a part of Indian tradition, Charlotte and Abhit exchanged floral neck garlands of white carnations and red roses. This act symbolized the union of their spiritual energies in their marriage.
For their ceremony backdrop, we followed the shape of the Cultural Center’s arches and created a focal point with a metal arbor adorned with an abundance of Smilax greenery and colorful blush, coral, dark pink and ivory blooms.
A tall floral arrangement with colorful blooms and branches of boronia in a gold fluted vases anchored the couples’ escort card table in the center of the venue’s beautiful GAR Rotunda. After cocktail hour, guests moved back into Preston Bradley Hall for dinner. Reception tables were decorated with one of three different centerpiece designs creating multiple unique looks for guests.
One group of tables featured a low and lush arrangement in a gold compote vase. Another had a gold geometric terrarium filled with colorful flowers. The final set was decorated with clusters of gold and clear hobnail candles. Each table was accented with elegant gold votives. The couples head table was long and made a statement with plenty of candlelight and a lush garland popping with color. We provided gold vases to repurpose the bridesmaids’ bouquets as a part of the table’s design. We also were able to relocate the ceremony arch behind the bride and groom’s table that was perfect for their reception entrance!
Sam Hurd Photography captured this colorful wedding day and we can’t stop looking through the photos. Charlotte and Abhit were such a wonderful couple to work with and we were lucky enough to also provide decor for their rehearsal dinner. The design was more simple as to not overshadow what guests would see the next day but still nodded to overall aesthetic with lots of greenery and candlelight. It’s so fun when we get to provide multiple looks for our couples!
