Fall Wedding Colors, Flowers, and Textures at Fairlie

We’re not sure if this is an unpopular opinion, but fall is arguably the best season in Chicago. The weather is mild, the leaves are changing, and the craziness from summer is winding down. We love all the textures and colors that fall brings - especially in terms of floral elements, duh! Emma and Craig got married at one of our fave venues - Fairlie - last autumn, and really leaned into the fall vibes. We love all the burnt orange, gold, red, and burgundy they incorporated into their big day - especially in the bridal party’s attire. Thanks to the help of all their vendors, including their planner, Michelle from Bustle and Lace, they had a GORG wedding day that went off without a hitch. The groom wore an AWESOME suit, which included a jacket and pants that were burnt orange/rust colored. His accessories - a velvet bowtie and suspenders - were the same autumnal color and just really tied the whole ‘fit together. Special shout out to his Chicago dog enamel pin that discreetly popped out from underneath his boutonniere that we made for him. The boutonniere consisted of a white ranunculus with a touch of greenery, and a bunny tail.

Such a good look for the groom and his dudes!

Here comes the bride! Emma looked stunning in her elegant, romantic, and flowwy wedding dress. We created a cascading bouquet for her with seasonal elements like toffee roses, ivory roses, pampas grass, bunny tails, orchids, rust dahlias, white ranunculus, eucalyptus, and olive foliage.

We looove the ecelectic look of her bridesmaids. They all chose their own dresses in different styles, fabrics, and colors. The rust orange, burgundy, dark peach, red, and gold combined to create the perfect autumnal look. It’s so fun when bridesmaids can express their own unique style, but when they all come together, they look like one cohesive, stylish unit.

We made the bridesmaids’ bouquets as a smaller version of the bride’s, and wrapped the stems in ivory ribbon.

We’re seriously obsessed with the whole bridal party’s outfits. So good!

Inside Fairlie, we transformed the space to be an industrial chic, autumnal dream.

We dressed the chandelier up in dripping smilax, as well as the stairs with the addition of dried palmetto fans. Plus, we added some candles to serve up extra romance.

For the ceremony altar decor, we created a highly textured deconstructed arch including floral elements like dyed babies breath, pampas grass, roses, rust color floral and foliage, dried palmetto fans, eucalyptus, burnt orange mums, white roses, and more. It looked so good against the brick wall and sheer curtains.

We crafted this large floral arrangement in a gold metal compote for the escort card table. It was filled with textured, autumn blooms similar to the bride’s bouquet. We also dressed up the gift and guest book table with a medium floral arrangement in a gold vase.

For their long, wooden dinner tables, we dressed them up in low ceramic dishes with pops of autumn florals, nude colored taper candles in white ceramic holders, loose greenery, and small glass votives.
