Elegant, Neutral Spring Wedding Flowers at the Chicago History Museum
Spring in Chicago is a magical time. It’s a rare moment when it’s not too hot, and not too cold in this weather-dramatic city of ours. We cherish this time of year! We had the pleasure of working with Lindsay and Alex on their spring wedding in Chicago, dreaming up their perfect wedding flowers together. This sweet couple envisioned flowers that were timeless, elegant, and natural for their big day. They wanted flowers that were neutral colored- focusing on white, touches of blush and light peach. All these ideas combined brought about their elegant wedding flowers, which went super well with the timelessness of the Chicago History Museum. Check out the photos from their wedding day by Lindsey Taylor Photography, and read more details about their wedding below!
Lindsay’s natural-shaped bouquet included seasonal elements like roses, sweetpea, stock, orlaya, ranunculus and peonies. Alex’s boutonniere was made of spray roses and a touch of greenery. We loved Alex’s classic look of a black suit and bowtie. His outfit combined with Lindsay’s white, elegant dress and long veil looked straight out of a wedding magazine! Oh, and we can’t forget to mention their adorable pups - who looked dapper too!
The bridesmaids wore dresses of various styles, all the same shade of tan/sage. Their ankle-length dresses and nude heels looked awesome with their petite bouquets. Big fan of this elegant spring look!
Alex’s crew all wore the classic black suit combined with a dapper black bowtie. They each wore a boutonniere made of white spray roses and a touch of greenery. Talk about looking fresh!
Alex and Lindsay had a Catholic ceremony at St. Michael’s Church in Old Town. This historic church is super ornate and visually impressive. Did you know that it’s one of the only structures that remained in tact during the Great Chicago Fire of 1871? Fun fact - now you know!
After their wedding ceremony, the wedding party and guests traveled over to the Chicago History Museum, which is located in Lincoln Park. We love working in this historic wedding venue, with its high ceilings, Georgian-style architecture, glittering chandeliers, and colorful stained glass.
We love it when couples find creative ways to include their fur babies into their decor. Isn’t their specialty cocktail menu so cute?!
For dinner table decor, we created low floral centerpieces . The green glasses on the tablescapes really pulled the room together, visually. They matched the flower stems and much of the stained glass on the walls. Though the room was mostly neutral, the light green glasses gave it that extra spring pizzazz!
We created a unique, eye-catching arrangement for the bar. Flowers included in this arrangement were delphinium, roses, hydrangea, and lisianthus. It appeared to grow from the counter.
Another fun add-on we got to create were these dance floor arrangements that surrounded their lit-up initials. We included some baby’s breath in addition to the other flowers we used throughout their floral decor, to honor the bride’s late grandmother. How sweet!
Cheers to you, Lindsay and Alex! We loved working with you on your elegant, spring wedding flowers. Planning your wedding in Chicago? Contact us so we can help bring your dream wedding flowers to life.
