Spring Wedding at the Kimpton Gray Hotel

Last April, Katie and Dan celebrated their love by having an elegant spring wedding in downtown Chicago. Their ceremony was at Old St. Pat’s Church, and the celebration afterward was at the Kimpton Gray Hotel. We loved bringing their wedding decor to life, which consisted of florals, greenery, candles, gold geometric terrariums, and tall gold centerpieces. The burgundy dresses, navy suits, white flowers, and gold details all looked so good together!

We made sure to incorporate dahlias and peonies into the bride’s bouquet, because we knew how much she loves them. Her bouquet was loose and natural, and contained elements like garden roses, eucalyptus, quicksand roses, astilbe, ranunculus, and an ivory ribbon. Her bridesmaids’ bouquets were similar, only mini versions. We loved how the pops of dark red in the bouquets matched the burgundy bridesmaid dresses. As for the guys’ flowers, Dan and his crew wore white ranunculus with a touch of eucalyptus greenery. The white flowers looked awesome against the men’s navy suits.

Cocktail hour tables were decorated with gold geometric terrariums filled with greenery, a collection of votives and pillar candles, and floral for the three seating chart frames. We also added a matching geometric gold card box alongside some candles.

The dinner tables had both short and tall floral centerpieces with plenty of candles scattered about. The tall gold centerpieces that held floral and greenery brought height to the room. Their unique table numbers, featuring dried plants and flowers, complimented their table decor perfectly. We loved how the florals and gold accents made the dining room even more romantic and warm. We repurposed the ladies’ bouquets on the head table, alongside a garland with pops of floral. We added some geometric terrariums with candles and clear votives to add that romantic lighting. Their three-tired wedding cake was decorated with clusters of fresh flowers on the sides. We always love fresh flowers on a cake!
