One Couple, Two Weddings
It was a very typical October weekend when a beautiful untypical couple were wed; not once, but twice. Megan and Jay decided rather than choosing one culture, they would embrace both with whole hearts.
Jay's Indian heritage was celebrated with a colorful wedding ceremony on Friday evening at Gorton Community Center . We created a simple yet colorful Mandap with rich logs for the Bride, Groom and close relatives to be seated under. Floral garlands of Roses and Marigolds were presented to the couple by guests of honor and fresh Rose petals were used in several of the cultural traditions. It was an experience we are so thankful to be a part of.
Saturday, the traditional Christian wedding took place at Elawa Farm. Megan carried a loose, yet manicured bouquet loaded with garden roses, thistle, dahlias, celosia, dusty miller, stock and ranunculus. Jay and his groomsmen wore electric clusters of orange, peach and blues. The aisle chairs were accented with clusters of floral tied with natural linen ribbon. The couple was flanked by two statement pieces of seemingly blooming willow branches surrounded by pumpkins as a nod to the season.
The reception tables also had mixed taste. Half of the tables had clear glass vases holding bright floral blooms, while the other half featured a green garland with curly willow running down the center of the table. Insert clusters of pillar candles and a look of bringing the garden indoors was achieved!
