Texture and Rich Color in Ravenswood
When a florist thinks about September weddings, the options are endless. A full array of textures, blooms and colors are at their finger tips (even here in the midwest). Having a bride that embraces color and encourages texture is a dream come true! And so, the designing for Matt and Helen's wedding flowers began and quickly filled the Ravenswood Event Center where they tied the knot.
Helen carried a natural, loose mound of Roses, Calla Lilies, Dahlias, Succulents and other non-flowers for an explosion of Autumn and personality in her hands. Matt's lapel was tastefully accented with a striking deep purple Calla Lilly, berries and other textured greens.
The Ceremony space was drenched in sunlight that gave the two of them a beautiful glow both outside and in. Chair ties lined the aisle and the couple were flanked by two stately arrangements standing tall on wooden pedestals. The metallic vessels held brightly colored Roses, Dahlias, Calla Lilies, Willow branches, Dusty Miller and more in a free flowing shape. These were later repurposed at the bar and escort card table.
The Reception tables featured lush floral arrangements in silver footed vases. Meanwhile, the card table and pie bar held a much more unique piece. Knobby grapevine branches with clusters of bright blooms, succulents and moss nestled into the branches appeared to be growing off the table itself. Such a simple and stunning way to add texture.
Many big thanks to Mark Federighi Photography for capturing each and every detail of this wedding. You are a gifted photographer! Thank you!
