Kendall College Wedding
May is one of the best flower months in my opinion. You get all of the beauties of spring....lilacs, tulips and peonies. This is reason enough to get married in May! Kenna and Jason tied the knot on a sunny day of Memorial Day weekend at Kendall College in Chicago.
Everything went smoothly except for the Memorial Day parade blocking just about every street downtown while I was trying to deliver their bouquets to the Swissotel. Oy vey! I almost cried...but I didn't! I held it together and got there just in time. I was lucky enough to experience the classic moment of handing over the bouquet to the bride and seeing her ooh and aww. It was great! Phew!
All was calm over by Kendall (no parade mumbo jumbo!). The space at Kendall has a very cool industrial look with tall ceilings, exposed beams, brick, metal and huge windows. Purple and white blooms in mercury glass vases blended perfectly with the room.
Kenna's bouquet featured peonies, lilacs, lisianthus, and roses while her bridesmaids carried a simple white puff of peonies and roses. The centerpieces were divided among three different styles: tall vases with curly willow and delphinium, a cluster of three silver vases with one type of flower in each, and a stunning mercury glass compote overflowing with purples and whites.
Kenna and Jason were such a pleasure to work with, so easy going and trusting of my creations! Couldn't ask for better clients. I wish them all the love and happiness in their new marriage.
I also really need to say a big thanks to their photographer Jennifer Jackson of Jennography. She did an amazing job capturing the details of the day (especially the flowers!).
