White and Green Spring Wedding at Artifact Events

Emily and Shawn got married this past April at one of our favorite venues on the Northside of Chicago called Artifact Events. This unique wedding and event venue is located in Ravenswood, a neighborhood full of one hundred-year-old factory buildings. It’s an industrial, lofted venue with cool architectural pieces dispersed throughout.

When planning their wedding flowers, Emily and Shawn said they wanted them to be organic, garden-y, and a little bit rustic. We loved bringing their white, spring florals to life! Read more about their big day and check out their wedding photos by Photographs by Teresa.

Emily and her bridal party got ready at a cool loft in the South Loop. The tall, blank white walls made for awesome photos! We love the way her bouquet stands out in these portraits. Her bouquet was comprised of roses, spray roses, ranunculus, sweetpea, astrantia, eucalyptus, italian ruscus, and olive foliage. Her bridal party wore varying shades of long green dresses and light tan suits. We provided similar, but smaller bouquets and boutonnieres for her people.

Shawn wore a dark green suit and cream colored bowtie, while his groomsmen wore light tan colored suits with dark green bowties. The contrast between them looked so good! The guys’ boutonnieres had white spray roses with a touch of textured greenery.

Their wedding was held in the lower level of Artifact Events. When guests first entered into the space, they had this cheerful table full of old family photos, their guestbook, and card box greeting them. We created a large statement floral piece including sunflowers- in memory of the bride’s grandmother’s favorite flower. It brought tears to her eyes when she saw it, awww.

For their ceremony decor, we created a deconstructed arch (it’s what people are calling an arch that doesn’t touch at the top) with pops of white flowers amongst lots of textured greenery. We also lined the aisles and stairs leading down to the ceremony space with tall white pillar candles and greenery.

To complete the flower girl’s adorable look, she wore a head wreath made of greenery and petite white waxflower blooms, and carried a basket full of white petals that she tossed during the processional. The moms wore pretty gold wrist cuffs with white blooms.

How cute and fun are the “party wheelz”?! It was remote controlled, haha.

For dinner table decor, some tables were adorned with varying heights of candles, repurposed bridal party bouquets, and loose greenery. The remaining tables were decorated with low centerpieces in gold compotes with votives.

We moved the ceremony altar deconstructed arch to frame the sweetheart table, and also placed the bride’s bouquet in the center. To complete the sweetheart table, we added some loose greenery, pillar candles, and votives. Repurposing decor from the ceremony to the reception is one of our favorite things to do (yes, we stay for the ceremony to move everything :))! Finally, we provided some fresh white blooms and greenery to their cutting cake.

Cheers to the happy couple! We wish you a lifetime of happiness.
