We Make It Easy to be Green
When people think of weddings they think of the beauty and love that make once-in-a-lifetime memories. What they DON’T think about is all the energy and materials that go into making that special day, and where those materials go when the day is over.
But we DO think about that.
We know that the event industry, and specifically floral design, often requires extensive land, water, and fossil fuel use. We know that many of the materials used to create conventional floral decor are poisonous to both land and people. We know that flowers that traditionally end up in a dumpster after a wedding could easily bring joy to many more people, and then be productively composted.
We know all these things and we do something about it.
Taking good care of the earth is a top priority in our sourcing, production, and clean up process. We use local flowers during the Midwest growing season to support local farms and reduce shipping energy. Our delivery vehicle is fuel efficient and we use Earth friendly cleaning supplies. When you book us, all contracts will be signed electronically to reduce waste, and we’ll work with you to create a design with our avant-garde collection of reusable vases. We also offer a donation service of to repurpose your leftover event flowers to local organizations like Random Acts of Flowers who then brings them to nursing homes and hospitals. And lastly, we send all our scraps get composted.
There are so many ways to make change- some big and some small- but we always try to do our part to make your once-in-a-lifetime night make a lifetime of difference.
