Pampas Grass, Neutrals and an Epic Flower Installation at Loft on Lake

Chicago is full of so many amazing venues, but particularly lofts. These lofts can typically be descibed as industrial, with wide open spaces, exposed brick, and other exposed architectural elements. We love working in lofts because flowers have the ability to really transform the space into something completely unrecognizable. Lofts are like a blank canvas, and the flowers are the paint.

Shania and Elver had the most gorgeous wedding at Loft on Lake this past September. We know we’re biased, but we gotta say, their florals were EPIC. The neutral, textured florals made a statement and brought such a romantic element to the entire space. Take a look at these amazing photos taken by Lauren Lucile Creative!

The bride and her bridesmaids carried bouquets made from seasonal elements such as quicksand roses, toffee rose, majolica spray roses, ranunculus, bleached ruscus, a touch of pampas grass, olive and eucalyptus. The flowers went so well with the rust color of the bridesmaids dresses and attendants’ bowties. Aren’t their dresses so pretty?! We just love when dresses of varying textures and styles are matched by their color.

Something we loved most about Shania and Elver’s wedding was their unique ceremony setup. The C-shape configuration really allowed guests to feel like they were part of the ceremony rather than simply being spectators of it. The textured floral altar, complete with tall pillar candles, surrounded the couple as they exchanged their vows. Greenery hung overhead on the ceiling planks, making the room feel more natural and cozy. The lighting elements also added so much to the warmth of the room – which included the bistro lights up top, the candles on the floor, and the twinkle lights on the wall.

After the ceremony, we transformed the space into the wedding reception. We repurposed the flowers and candles from the alter to create a gorgeous, long head table. We just love how dramatic and romantic the head table turned out, especially with the twinkling lights behind it!

The guest’s tables boasted tall pillar candles as their centerpieces, with flowers and greenery peppered about.

We added fresh flowers to their two-tier, semi-naked cake from Sugar Fixe Patisserie, and some eucalyptus to the table.

Shania and Elver’s wedding is a perfect example that you can drastically dress up a space simply through flowers, lighting and greenery. Cheers to the happy couple! May you have a long and bright future together.
